Rearranging the order of your Help Center content

To deliver a good self-service experience to your customers, your content needs to grow and change with their needs. That means that your Help Center can't be set in stone. That's why Kayako's Help Center lets you arrange your articles, sections, and categories into whatever order you need. 

In this article, we'll cover instructions for rearranging the order of your Help Center content. 

Rearranging Help Center articles

To change the order in which your articles appear, you'll need to edit the section the articles live in. There, you'll be able to click and drag articles into whatever order you like. 

NOTE: To rearrange your Help Center content in Kayako, you will need an agent  account with the 'Manage Help Center' permission.

To reorder the articles in a section:

  1. Sign in to your Help Center.
  2. Navigate to the section you want to rearrange.
  3. Click the Edit Section button. 
  4. From the Article order dropdown, select 'Manual'.
  5. A list of all the articles in the section will appear. Click and drag them into the order you want. 
  6. Click the Update button to save your new order. 

The manual order you define can be updated and saved whenever you like, even if you switch back to 'Latest' or 'Popular' at some point later.

Rearranging Help Center sections

You can change the order of your Help Center sections by editing the category they live in.

NOTE: To rearrange your Help Center content in Kayako, you will need an agent  account with the 'Manage Help Center' permission.

To rearrange sections in a category:

  1. Sign in to your Help Center.
  2. Click on the category you want to reorganize.
  3. Click the Edit Category button. 
  4. A list of all the sections in the category will appear. Click and drag them into the order you want. 
  5. Click the update button to save your new order.

Rearranging Help Center categories

To change the order of your categories, you can click and drag them from the Help Center homepage.

NOTE: To rearrange your Help Center content in Kayako, you will need an agent  account with the 'Manage Help Center' permission.

To rearrange Help Center categories:

  1. Sign in to your Help Center.
  2. Click on the name of a category and drag it into the order you want.

NOTE: If you've made any edits to the 'Home' template that affect how your categories are displayed, you won't be able to rearrange your categories with the drag-and-drop feature.
